Key Verse: Deuteronomy 26: 8 – So the Lord brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm, with great terror and signs and wonders.

When we worry, we shorten God’s reach into our lives. It does not bring results; it occupies our minds. We waste productive time when we could be receiving revelation (Matthew 6:27). Isaiah 53:1 asks, “Who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?” Remember, “Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; Nor His ear heavy, that it cannot hear.” (Isaiah 59:1). The Israelites cried out to God when they needed a deliverer and a waymaker from the Egyptians. To grab onto the outstretched arm of God, we need a revelation concerning our situation.

Considering the various gestures that the human body does in our interaction with one another, our hands and arms are likely the most used. For example, we use it to handshake, fist pump, give a high five, and salute. All these gestures require the stretching of our arm to another. An outstretched arm acknowledges. If we want to give something, we would reach for where the item, grab it and stretch toward another person to share it. So, an arm willing to give is outstretched, and an arm ready to receive is also outstretched. The Bible tells us in John 3:16 that “God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son.” Packed in love is all the patience and mercy needed for God to keep His arm outstretched. When Jesus was nailed, the devil thought that would stop the giving, but those nails were driven into Jesus’ hands. At the same time, it was stretched on the cross, which is symbolism for us that God’s arm is constantly stretched out to us. Hallelujah! Christ is the arm of the Lord! Our outstretched arms do many things we can liken to God’s role in our lives. It is there to help and support (Isaiah 41:10), comfort (2 Corinthians 1:3-4), lift and promote (Psalms 75:6-7), protect (Psalms 91:4, 11-12), and direct (Isaiah 63:12). If you have watched soccer, when a player scores a goal, arms stretch up in victory – the outstretched arm of God is a guarantee of victory (Romans 8:31-32, 37).

Signs and wonders are evident to the world that a supernatural power works when God’s outstretched arm is at work in your life. When God stretched out His hand through Moses, dry land opened in the midst of the sea (Deuteronomy 26:8 NKJV). We can reach God’s outstretched arm in the form of revelation through God’s Word (Bible), The Holy Spirit, and communication with God (Prayer). Given we are made in God’s image, the creative power of God is translated to us as His children. That means, when you receive a revelation, you should be confident that you will experience it in the physical. In our communities, we need to stretch our hands to others. We have been blessed to be a blessing to each other and those who do not know Christ, planting a seed for them to know God.

In summary, God’s arm is constantly stretched out toward us. We need revelation through God’s Word, Spirit, and Prayer to reach His arm. When we worry, we shorten God’s hand in our lives. When we grab hold of His arm, signs and wonders are evident. God’s arm is outstretched towards us so we can stretch out to others and never forget to thank God for His outstretched arm.
