The Sensing of Destiny

The Sensing of Destiny

Our life is intentionally orchestrated to follow divine patterns. God must package strange ways of bringing us into His Pre- ordain PLAN; one of such ways is by scriptural illumination. Paul the Apostle put it this way in one of his writings “ For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. The image of His Son – JESUS, which is the goal of God, is the ecosystem that everyone must be domicile to fully enter the economy of destiny. I currently drive a Honda Ridgeline truck; one of the unique factors of this car is its engine. The operation of this car is controlled by its engine; in the same vein, our life could only be administered effectively by God if we are placed in Christ. The Honda Ridgeline truck also has a sensing mechanism, a suite of safety and assistance features designed to make driving easier and protect my passengers and me; when activated, it uses sensor inputs to provide an alert. Similarly, everyone needs this sensing of destiny to navigate life effectively under God. There is three major sense of destiny that each one needs as we journey along; they are before time, in time, and after time.

The first sense of destiny (before time), as we could see from the writings of Paul, the scholar, is FOR KNOWING. “For whom he did foreknow.” You are not a mistake in a biodata, neither are you just the product of a love relationship between a man and a woman called your parents; you are a specific creature, created in, created with, created for, created by, and created towards a specific function on the surface of the earth. This specific function is hidden in God, who is your creator; it is because of this purpose and destiny in the mind of God that necessitates your showing up on the earth. Sad to say that many live to the end of their days without scratching a piece of God’s plan and purpose. I must say that “foreknowing “is not ambition, career goals, or “making it,” as some will say. It is that which is in God’s mind concerning you and me before time began. Like David, the most outstanding king of Israel, said, “It is God who has made us and not we ourselves; we are His people, and we are the sheep of His pasture .”Until we sense what is in the mind of God concerning us, we are going to be like that man boxing the air. In the words of Dr. Myles Munroe of Blessed memory, when the purpose of a thing is not known, abuse is inevitable. May you be blessed with a sense of purpose as you journey on this road called life.

The second Sense of Destiny is called PREDESTINATION. It will be discussed in part 2, God willing.
